How to Start Your Own Fundraiser for The Eating Disorder Foundation

Want to make an even bigger impact? Creating your own peer-to-peer fundraiser is quick and easy! Here’s how:

Click on "Create a Fundraising Page"

  • Create an account  - you'll need to do this even if you have an account in our Community Portal, since this is a separate login.

  • Be sure to consent to email updates so we can contact you about your fundraiser!

  • Follow instructions to check your email (including junk/spam folders) and activate your account.

Set up your page

  • Return to the campaign page and click "Create a Fundraising Page."

  • Decide if you want your own fundraiser or if you want to create or join a team and fundraise with others.

  • Follow the steps to upload a photo, personalize your fundraising page, get started toward your fundraising goal, and more!

    • Upload a profile photo (optional). This is a picture representing you and isn't the main image for your fundraiser.

    • Name your fundraiser (ex: Jane's Birthday Fundraiser, Celebrating My Recovery, In Memory of Josh)

    • Set a fundraising goal that feels doable but inspiring.

    • Customize your fundraiser link (optional)

  • Create your page! This is the most important part. This is where you can share your story and tell your network why you want them to give to EDF. How did we have an impact? We have some sample text farther down this page to help you get started.

    • Tip: try to keep your story helpful, safe, and relatable by avoiding things such as "Before & After" photos, or specific details and numbers. Ask yourself if sharing your story is of value to your recovery journey, supported by your team, and fits within your personal boundaries.

  • Hit "Publish"!

Share your page

  • Post it on social media.

  • Text or email it to friends and family.

  • Ask loved ones to donate or even create their own page to join you!

Celebrate your impact

Every dollar raised helps EDF provide free support groups, education, and resources to those struggling with eating disorders and their loved ones.

✨ Tip: Personal stories inspire giving. Share why EDF matters to you—it makes your fundraiser even more powerful!
